Iranian Freestyle Wrestlers Win Two Bronze at World Championships
TEHRAN (Dispatches) – Iranian wrestlers Hassan Yazdani and Parviz Hadi have won two bronze medals at World Championships in Budapest, Hungary.
Hassan Yazdani won the bronze after beating Russian Dauren Kurugliev 11-5 in the 86kg.
The gold medal went to David Morris Taylor from the USA who defeated Turkey’s Fatih Erdin 12-2 in the final match.
And also, freestyler Parviz Hadi grabbed a bronze medal at the event.
Hadi had to settle for bronze after beating Anzor Khizriev from Russia 11-2 in the 125kg.
Georgian Geno Petriashvili defeated Chinese Zhiwei Deng in the final match to win the gold medal.
More than 850 wrestlers from 97 countries are competing in Budapest to win one of the 30 world titles in freestyle, Greco-Roman and women's wrestling.
The championships will run through Oct. 28.
